History

In 1952, the office of the College Dean was established, thus signaling serious consideration for tertiary education in La Consolacion College Manila . Bachelor's degree in Education was offered together with a two-year general Liberal Arts (Associate in Arts), though the former became more active in the mid-60s.

Other courses were opened later on to cater to the needs of the growing number of students based on what the International Standard has maintained, that is, education must be based on a strong liberal arts foundation. In 1999, the departments of Theology and Philosophy, English and Literature, Mass Communications and Performing Arts, Psychology and Social Sciences, and Math-PE-Sciences or MAPESCI were created and put under the School of Arts and Sciences to support the General Education requirements of the entire La Consolacion College Manila.

Because education is incomplete without a broader foundation of liberal arts, the School of Arts and Sciences evolved through the years to offer the following courses: Bachelor of Science in Psychology; Bachelor of Arts in Psychology; Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications major in Advertising, Journalism, Broadcasting, or Corporate Communication; Bachelor of Secondary Education with major in Biology, Educational Technology and English, Educational Technology in Mathematics, Educational Technology and Social Sciences, or Educational Technology and Computer Education.
